Department History:
Microbiology is the study of micro organisms, those being unicellular, multicellular or acellular. Microbiologists study microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, algae, fungi and parasites.They try to understand how these organisms live ,grow, and interact with their environments. We have introduced Microbiology in 1996 with the combination of groups MZC,BTMBC. We have also initiated Microbiology in PG in 2002.

MISSION
Our mission is to foster an environment of excellence by attracting and supporting the outstanding students. We focus on the patterns that enable predictive understanding of plants and their environments at local, regional and global scales, leading students to strengthen in the areas of ecology, evolution, and systematic.
EThe botany department is unique because it focuses on fundamental research, and teaching of plants as well as study of populations, communities and ecosystems of which they are the key component.
Our strength in research and reaching support our leadership and participation in interdisciplinary activities.
